TVXQ, SNSD, and KARA have revealed that they will not be participating as live acts for the ‘2011 MBC Gayo Daejaejun‘ (previously referred to as the ’2011 MBC Gayo Daejun’).
The three groups will be performing at NHK‘s 62nd ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen‘ on December 31st. Since it’s a live broadcast that begins before the MBC’s music festival on the same day, the trio decided to stay in Japan to show their gratitude for both the local interest in their music, and the growth of K-Pop over the year.
Representatives of their respective companies also revealed that it would be too risky to try and catch a flight back home on time. As such, the ‘MBC Gayo Daejaejun’ will be setting up a separate stage in Japan for the trio to perform on during a pre-recording.
PD Park Hyun Ho of the ‘Gayo Daejaejun’ stated, “It’s disappointing that TVXQ, SNSD, and KARA won’t be able to make it live due to the NHK program, but we will set up a stage in Japan for the three teams to hold a special performance on. Their performances will be broadcast at the proper time in the live broadcast.”
