Two popular Korean idol groups recently received the Golden Disc in Japan.
On November 12, the Recording Industry Association of Japan reported that SHINee’s new single, Dazzling Girl, released on October 10 in Japan, has recently been listed on the Golden Disc.
SHINee’s fifth single, Dazzling Girl, was produced by Jeff Miyahara, who also produced the popular Japanese singer JUJU’s album. It ranked second on the Oricon Weekly Chart, selling 97,111 copies.
KARA were also listed on the Golden Disc by selling over 100,000 copies of their new single, Electric Boy, released on October 17 in Japan.
As one of the most popular Korean girls groups in Japan, KARA has been successful every time they released a new material. Electric Boy sold 57,942 copies in the first week and ranked second on the Oricon Weekly Chart.
KARA also topped the Recochoku Chart, one of the major ringtone charts in Japan. Their new single ranked first on the Single Download Chart, the Video Clip, and the Movie Chart.
