Nicole recently went on the cover for the January issue of ‘GanGee’ magazine, where she showed her mature feminine charms. In the photos, Nicole looked drastically different from the adorable image she had with KARA, and showed off her sexy charms that was tinged with maturity.
When asked in the accompanying interview whether she felt any stress or burden over wearing revealing outfits on stage, Nicole answered, “Definitely. There was once where I had ate a lot before heading to the set. I was left flustered when I was told that I had to wear a revealing outfit, and it was one where I had to bare my midriff. I was thinking why did they make me wear that outfit first. It would had been better if I had some time to digest before beginning the shooting. After that day, I would refrain from eating before shooting anything.”
Nicole continued, “As a member of KARA, I would go on crash diets before an album release, but that results in me losing muscle mass. I need a set of stable vocals for the album, but on the flip side, I need to have a slim body frame for the stage, so the changes are really to the extreme. I tried my best to change because I don’t like this, but I don’t have sufficient time. I went to New York for some vocal lessons before my solo album release. My vocal range actually isn’t that restricted, so I didn’t want to emit vocals like in the past. So I placed an emphasis on hitting the high notes during my rehearsals. I will continue to work hard in future, and maintain something that didn’t come easily.”
As for the direction of her solo album, Nicole said, “I was really afraid about the reviews of my album, and I was really stressed out. I got so sensitive that I would often just drop tears. I would also criticize myself because of my desires. The rewards from my promotions this time have fell short of what I have prepared, and I even had to rely on medicine because I was so stressed out. It was a really trying time.”
Nicole added, “I will have to keep myself in check for my next album, and go about it comfortably without forcing anything. My solo album was delayed this time. If I had kept to the original schedule, the results would be far worse.”
Finally, she said, “You can make plans, but there will always be situations which you can’t foretell. So you need to adapt accordingly.”
