[News] Nicole to be on MBC's New Year Special of Tutoring across Generations

Nicole will be on a New Year's special episode of the show 이하 띠과외. The theme for the show is people born in the year of the Sheep (Goat). They will be going to a temple stay. Other participates include Rainbow's Hyunyoung, Alex, and Horan.

Nicole and Rainbow’s Hyunyoung to Ring in the New Year With “Tutoring across Generations”

Nicole and Rainbow’s Hyunyoung will appear on the January 2 broadcast of MBC‘s “Tutoring across Generations.”

Both born in 1991, the zodiac year of sheep, Nicole and Hyunyoung will ring in 2015 (which also happens to be the year of the sheep) with “Tutoring Across Generations” on its New Year’s special episode.

Nicole used to be label mates with Hyunyoung at DSP Media before she left KARA and signed with B2M Entertainment. Despite being the same age, Nicole is Hyunyoung’s sunbae, having debuted before Hyunyoung through the same agency. Viewers are looking forward to the sunbae-hoobae reunion on the upcoming episode of “Tutoring across Generations.”

“Tutoring Across Generations” is a variety show where stars sharing the same zodiac sign (usually meaning they are twelve years apart in age) are paired together in tutor-student relationships. On the show, stars attempt to close the generation gap between themselves and their partners.

The show airs every Friday on MBC at 10 p.m., KST.

[News] Nicole Officially Signs with B2M Entertainment, Preparing for Solo Comeback

It has just been confirmed that former KARA member Nicole has signed with B2M Entertainment.

B2M is also host to Lee Hyori, SPICA, and Eric Nam.

Just now, a B2M Entertainment representative has stated, "Nicole has been quietly preparing for a solo album, and as a new part of our agency, we plan to accelerate the album preparations in earnest."

Former KARA member Nicole has officially signed an exclusive contract with the same agency that houses Lee Hyori, SPICA, and many others.

On October 14, B2M Entertainment revealed through a press release, “Following the end of her contract with DSP Media, Nicole is currently preparing for her solo debut after confirming a new agency and completing the contract signing. Nicole’s new agency was established by CEO Gil Jong Hwa, who had been with KARA from their debut to their peak. Since their connection under DSP Media, they have maintained close relations with one another.”

More than the conditions of the contract, Nicole was seeking an agency that understands her better than anyone else, as well as one that would be able to support her. It has been said that CEO Gil Jong Hwa watched over Nicole since her trainee days and has praised her potential as a performer.

Meanwhile, Nicole has consistently continued to prepare for her solo album away from the public eye, and with the full support of her new agency, she is planning to officially kick off album preparations.

B2M Entertainment stated on September 14, “Nicole, who was preparing for her solo activities after her contract ended with DSP Media, has chosen our company as her new agency and finalized her contract.”

B2M Entertainment Makes Official Statement on Reports of Nicole's Comeback

Just a few hours ago, it was TV Report wrote an article stating that ex-KARA member Nicole would be making her comeback this October under B2M Entertainment.

According to the report, entertainment officials stated that Nicole has chosen her debut song and is currently rehearsing for her solo debut.

Also according to the report, Nicole's solo debut song has the same sort of feeling that Lee Hyori's solo songs do. Additionally, the TV Report article stated that because Nicole is now under B2M Entertainment, whose CEO used to be one of KARA's managers, that her synergy with her new company is great.

However, just now, B2M Entertainment representative Kil Jonghwa stated, "It is true that I received a request from Nicole to work together, but we have not yet finalized the contracts with each other."

Representative Kil continued, "Both Nicole and the company are currently thinking about the contract, and it seems like we will be able to nail down all of the terms and conditions and finalize the contract soon."

Representative Kil also stated, "Since I've known Nicole since she was a trainee, I know her potential very well. Nicole is targeting an October comeback, and once we complete her full contract, it seems that we will be able to support that."

B2M Entertainment told enews on September 25, "We have not signed a contract with Nicole yet," and "However, we are tuning up the final conditions."

The agency rep carefully answered, "This isn′t the first time we′ve met Nicole. In order to prevent mistakes from both sides, we′re in disucssion to see if we can work together well until the end."

The news article claimed that multiple insiders from the music industry revealed her debut date was approaching.  Allegedly, she has decided on her debut track and is engaged in vocal and dance practices, planning to promote a song and do a showy performance that might set her as the next Lee Hyori, according to insiders. They say she is also very much like Lee Hyori in terms of their career path as the veteran soloist left DSP Media group Fin.K.L to pursue solo activities and is signed under B2M Entertainment.


We previously reported an exclusive on Nicole possibly joining B2M Entertainment, and it appears she has finalized a contract with them since then, presuming the insider comments are true.


The date for Nicole's solo debut is reported to be sometime in the middle of October. Stay tuned for updates!
