[Info/News] KARA's Contract with DSP ends in January

- Gyuri, SeungYeon, Hara, and Nicole's contract with DSP ends in January.
- JiYoung's contract with DSP ends in April.
- KARA's contract with UMJ ends in December.
- DSP says its too early to discuss about a new contract.
- KARA members have met recently with each other to talk but don't have anything specific they want to discuss with DSP yet.
- KARA are taking it step by step and  the possibilities are open for discussions.
- KARA has said in the past that Whatever happens in the future they want to keep the same members together as KARA.
- Official at DSP said KARA will release a new single in July in Japan and that KARA are preparing for a new single in Korea to be released in late August/early September. In October, KARA will have a Japan arena tour, so talk about the end of the contracts will probably happen at the end of the year (src).

* Got the info from various news outlets and far too lazy to post each one XD

I think KARA will resign with DSP under much better terms.

  1. Yeah, I see a re-signing happen under better terms as you said aka more money for KARA babies.

  2. Honestly speaking, dsp is nothing without kara now, especially since ss501 left. Rainbow is popular but not super popular and A-jax and puretty are still starting out. They won't be making any money without kara so they will probably try their best to keep kara. The sales from rainbow and ajax cant even be compared to the amount that kara sells.

  3. I hope they resign and get better terms. I also hope DSP will step it up with promoting them since it feels like Korea is losing some interest in them with the rise of other girl groups. And most of all I hope they promote Nicole better because the girl has so much potential that is going to waste imo.

  4. At first I feel like I don't care but somehow it turns out I feel so sad about this...I know eventually they will separate it makes me feel so empty now.

  5. what ever happens i'm with the kara..always agree with their decision.. i really hope the reporter wont make this issue become like what has happened before..lets hope kara and DSP have a very wise and balance decision for both parties..cuz we still wanna see kara5 performing..and netherless..kara is what kara now bcoz of DSP guys..remember they really hope they want to stick as 5 member of kara wich is Gyuri,Seungyeon,Hara,Nicole and Jiyoung till the end =)

#plus we know how supportive kara is to their dongseng.. DSParadaise <3

  6. I do see Kara staying with DSP, and especially with how much of a name they've built for themselves with DSP, it's hard to see them anywhere else. I just hope this talk involves the girls and their DSP personnel and doesn't involve the parents and/or attorneys "representing" either. We all know what happened last time. An amicable discussion session is what they need. Attorneys and parents can get involve once discussions are done and drawn out and just needs over-viewing. Seriously, talks like these needs the people directly involved not their "representatives".

    1. JiYoung was a minor so I think her father being involved was needed back then XD But the girls are older now, I think they might talk to their parents about their decision but ultimately they probably have the final word XD

  7. This would be interesting ...

The girls said they want to remain together as 5=1 and they've always proved to be considerate & loyal. So most probably they would want to stay but of course they'd demand better benefits/reimbursements (which they rightly deserved).

DSP most probably would agree to their terms as KARA is their most lucrative 'cash cow' atm. Rainbow & A-jax are popular but still not generating enough profit for DSP to 'let go' of KARA yet.

Personally, I hope DSP steps up their game in terms of promotion and marketing strategy coz seriously, they're not as aggressive and as social-media-savvy as the other companies.

And being a Cole stan, I can't help but hope that DSP would take more efforts to promote Cole as she has been under-utilised and sidelined for quite some time now. DSP would be wise to recognise, acknowledge and maximise Cole's potentials!

But I guess we hv to wait and see how it all pans out.. :)

  8. I was hoping KARA would sign with a different agency since they lack promoting them in Korea. I wish Nicole would go solo again, but this time have Brave Brother produce her music!

  9. Would it be possible for them to sign with different labels individually yet still be signed as KARA (as a group) under DSP? Kinda like what SS501 is doing?
