[News] Nicole Joins Hands with Producer Sweetune for Solo Debut

Nicole, ex-member of girl group Kara, is preparing for her solo debut with hit producer Sweetune.

According to a source in the music industry, the idol will launch her solo promotions with a song produced by Sweetune. The producer is known for producing some of Kara’s biggest hits, such as “Mister,” “Lupin,” and “Jumping.”

When asked about the musical direction of Nicole’s debut album, a representative of her new agency B2M Entertainment commented, “She is currently in the midst of rigorous preparations. Her new image will definitely be different from her past one.”

“While there will be sexiness involved, the overall concept is not sexy. The concept will have a powerful feel that helps her fill the stage by herself, and we are planning to showcase a previously unseen side of her,” the representative revealed.

Nicole’s mini album is scheduled to drop in mid-November. This will also mark the beginning of her official solo promotions.

Nicole to Debut as Soloist with Sweetune in Mid-November
Nicole is currently working with the producing team, Sweetune.

On October 20, B2M Entertainment told Newsen, "Nicole is currently working on a new song with Sweetune. This upcoming album will most likely be a mini-album."

Staying secretive on the genre and concept, B2M Entertainment added, "We′re working on the new song with mid-November as the goal."

Sweetune is a talented producing team that created several hit songs for Kara, including Jumping, Mister and more. With Nicole leaving Kara, people are wondering what kind of synergy effect Nicole and Sweetune will have this time around.

Following the end of her contract with DSP Media, Nicole signed with B2M Entertainment to prepare for her solo career.

The relationship between B2M Entertainment and Nicole is quite special as B2M Entertainment′s CEO, Gil Jong Hwa is the one who helped debut Nicole into the music industry.

CEO Gil Jong Hwa was in charge of Kara when he was working under DSP Media. The faith that Nicole and CEO Gil Jong Hwa have in each other is known to be quite strong in the industry.

I really like that the objective of  Nicole's comeback/solo debut is powerful and more performance oriented. While of course it will be sexy, Nicole can't help it lol, it is not the main focus.

  2. "While there will be sexiness involved, the overall concept is not sexy." I was like "Thank god, it's not sexy."

  3. Is is just me or I find it weird that Sweetune once claimed that they are not willing to work with Kara without 5 members but they are pairing up with Nicole for her solo. Almost like they know something

    1. Maybe Nicole is Sweetune's bias...? Hahah, Idk maybe they see potential in her so they prefer work with Nicole.

    2. The intention of that statement seems to forgotten.

When Sweetune made that statement, it was in support of the Nicole, SeungYeon, and JiYoung. This was a message to DSP, to work things out with the girls or else they would be losing them as KARA's producers.

Their loyalty lies with the girls, not the company.

KARA's new lineup does not consist of those 5 members anymore and so Sweetune didn't participate in the album. The choice to have a different producer could have easily been made by DSP as well.

For Sweetune to work with Nicole, it does not violate what they said prior about KARA.

They never said they weren't going to work with any members again if they were not part of KARA, they said they would only work for KARA if the group was those 5 members.

    3. Your statement is correct @ournikori. I honestly don't think its a coincidence that KARA had a new producer for their new album and that Sweetune will be producing for Nicole. Its been very obvious that Nicole wanted to be a part of KARA but DSP was the one that didn't allow for that to happen based on their prior history. I think this is Sweetune's way of showing disapproval to how they handled things with Nicole.

I'm sure that in the end the girls (all of them) & Sweetune are fine with each other, just not with the company.

  5. I'm actually a bit disappointed. One, I thought she had already fully prepared a solo album, including a lead single. Therefore, I wonder if B2M want a different song to introduce her. Two, by the way people were talking, they made it seem as though she would be debuting with a full album, not a mini album. I guess I can understand they don't want to jump the gun and may want to test the waters with a mini album instead to check receptivity. Three, I admit I mostly liked Kara because of their variety personalities, especially Nicole, so I wish she had a different producer than Sweetune. I feel like she will get a lot of initial flack for it as well. Hopefully I'm wrong and maybe this venture will mark the beginning of a new and interesting image/sound for both Nicole and Sweetune. I'm willing to find out. I'm still very excited for her endeavors and debut!

    1. B2M never said her album would be produced fully by Sweetune though.

    2. If you try to read a little bit more a music industry you will find out that the ones who produce not everytime are the ones who write the songs and music. The producers will porduce the video, they will put the money and give the help you need to try to hit a song. Nicole worked with a lot producers, but she has been preparing her album by her own. And how Our Nikori said, B2M never said about fully producing. What Sweetune will do is prepare the video and try to give her a new image, I'm sure they don't want to stuck in the same formely KARA cute girl.

  8. Many Kara fans are talking about how Sweetune betrayed Kara and DSP. And many are getting mad at Nicole however-

    1) Sweetune never "promised" that they will only compose songs for Kara5, they made a statement because they got a question on a japanese tv show.
    2) DSP chose Duble Sidekick instead of Sweetune to judge Baby Kara. So technically, DSP chose Duble Sidekick, not that Sweetune dumped Kara.

Technically, based on the above, DSP chose to work with Dbuble Sidekick and Sweetune chose to work with Nicole. And nobody knows the reason why. Nobody knows what happened between Nicole, Kara, Sweetune or Dsp. So stop hating on Nicole and making a fuss out of nothing.

  9. “While there will be sexiness involved,...." LOL...You don't say..? Just give her a catchy tune that will get folk's attention and let her handle the sexy part. Once she gets some air time and a couple of spots on a show or two, the ball will be rolling. Her real strength is in her personality and it will be great to see her shine on her own.

  10. Hi guys,
I've been laying low for so long ever since Cole left KARA. And I have waited patiently for Nicole to comeback. Sorry to say that in that time, I didn't keep up with Kpop in general as well coz it has always been Nicole and KARA for me. Without Nicole, even KARA feels lacking.. that is of course my personal opinion.

Anyway, I am surprised to hear that some Kamilia are turning against Nicole. WTF?! Newer Kamilia might not understood the dynamics of Kara & DSP and why Nicole finally left... But the older Kamilias should know better... so why the hate for Cole?!?

I also agree with mae and the above anonymous, Sweetune wanted to show support to KARA5 at that particular time when Hammie, Cole and Jing didn't want to continue their contract, But they have never said that they will not work with any of the girls personally.

I am of course Cole-biased but I am going to be positive and believe that Sweetune wants to work with Cole coz they've known her for years and know what she is capable of. In fact, they might even disagree about how DSP was treating Nicole unfairly but they couldn't do anything about it back then. So now they can support her and help her realise her potentials which was previously clipped by DSP (don't tell me that this is not true coz DSP blatantly sidelined Cole especially after the HamColeJing dispute).

So I am just gonna chil and wait for her comeback. I am sooo psyched that she will be powerful, sexy and sassy instead of just plain sexy. I don't really care abt awards etc coz to see her on stage and varieties is a reward already for me... Success doesn't come easy so I want her to have a long sustainable future ... so slet's take it slow and steady! :)

Let's give all the support she needs. Chaiyokk! Hwaitingggg!!...

  11. OMG!!!... what did I say?!... hahaha... it's definitely deliciously scandalous if Sweetune ends up producing for Nicole instead... hahaha... there is definitely something going on behind closed doors. But again there's also the fact that B2M And Sweetune have worked together for quite some time now too. They've produced for Spica and Eric Nam so it could easily be one of those "keep it in the family" situation. We will never know. I'm just excited that we have perspective date and that things are moving along. Excited!!!

  13. b2m artist do have special connection with sweetune, for example: kim boa still lend her voice by doing chorus or BG sound for various artist that use sweetune song and so does eric nam for the male idol~ LOL
so started from when nicole was rumoured to sign with b2m I believe that sweetune might be the one who produced the song for cole~ and im glad when its true!
anyway, I will support nicole no matter what! Yongjoo fighting! Nicole figting! XD
