[News] Kara To Pre-Release “Runaway” Ahead of Comeback and Goes All Korean for Title Track

Girl group Kara will be making their long-awaited comeback in September and has released more details about their album, increasing the anticipation of fans.

Kara will be pre-releasing the track “Runaway” on August 21 before the full album availability in September. This is the first time that Kara has promoted an album in this manner, unveiling a track from a new album before the title song. “Runaway” is composed by Shim Eun Ji, and the song is described as a “medium tempo track that will show Kara’s transformed vocal skills.”
“I Can’t Become a Lady” (translated from the Korean ‘숙녀가 못 돼’)” is the title track of Kara’s upcoming fourth full-length album. This is the first time that Kara will be promoting a title track in Korea that doesn’t use English words in the name. Previously, the group promotoed “Rock U (락유),” “Pretty Girl (프리티 걸),” “Mister (미스터),” “Step (스텝),” and “Pandora (판도라),” which all were English words or phrases spelled out in Korean.

    1. DSP didn't even mention who composed the title track which is kind of funny.

  2. Hhhmmm surprising how KARA isn't working with Sweetune this time around...
Even INFINITE worked with Rphabet instead for their 'Destiny' album.

  3. Actually Shim EunJi composed two songs in INFINITE's latest album, which makes things more interesting.

  4. This comeback is really hyping up my excitement for the title track.
Shin Eun ji is a great composer and most of the songs she composed has fresh slight retro or either a more of a slow ballad concept, I'm amusing that 'Runway' is going to be more on the retroish scale which I love~ Plus the title track sounds very interesting and they might be able to capture more female fans ;3 they do look pretty handsome if you ask me... I really can't wait for their comeback~

  6. It does seems like a trend these days to basically "dump" your "go-to" producers and opt out for some new, fresh one... hahaha... Like it was mentioned, Infinite, and there's also Sistar who chose Duble Sidekick rather than going with Brave Sound. I feel it can be a growth thing, the agencies feel as if their group have reached a career pinnacle in which their popularity is solidify so it's time to experiment and test out new waters. I'm all for the girls trying and experimenting new styles and genre but I hope they continue to work with Sweetune, even with this comeback. I honestly see these two groups working together for life, until one or the other decides to end their career. I'm just so used to hearing them together. You think of Kara's releases to automatically think, Sweetune produced. And when you think of Sweetune, the first group that pops in to your head is Kara. I want that to continue. It just brings back the whole loyalty feel.

    1. Well we still don't know who produced KARA's title track. I do think it's nice for KARA to venture out to different composers to change things up.

    1. I mean it's pretty clear Hara is the main model from the start lol. I've seen fan taken photos from various K-SWISS locations and the promotional stuff is mainly Hara. It is what it is, at least the other members get paid as well.. ? haha

  8. To the anon's comment asking what Sweetune has produced for KARA (I accidentally deleted the comment XD), they have produced every song KARA has released since Rock U. Honey, Lupin, Wanna, Mister, Pandora are songs they produced for KARA.

  9. To me, "Step" is the bar for Kara to beat. I'm hoping for something along that line for their comeback. I wasn't too fond of "Pandora" (just my opinion) and I'm hoping for something better with "Can't Become A Lady". Super excited for their comeback!

    1. From what I remember, so many other K-POP fans took notice of STEP and even music sites wrote about STEP and that MV had such high views as well. I saw recently that STEP sold over 100,000 copies, that's the most for any Korean album KARA has released.

I liked Pandora mostly because their lives were so good, the best I think they've ever performed for a promotional cycle.

    2. well actually i really loved pandora but i hated the mv cause they could have done something other than dance in the box and i really hated the other song in the mini album . i just really hope that for this comeback that kara stay away from the cute concept

  10. do u think nicole is the member with the least income , as we all know she really didn't have any solo activity in the past 2 years except for the sure magazin and her mcing in the GDA .

    1. That's hard to tell, she could have saved her money from when she worked tons. She did MC at Inkigayo and was a model for KAPPA last year, it also depends on the other members and if they had solo work and if they saved. I think she definitely took a hit because she didn't do nearly as much solo work as the other members, but somehow I think she was okay with that or that's what I want to think XD
