[News] KARA extends UMJ contract & Adds Concert Dates to Sold Out Tour

Back in Japan, the girls of Kara are continuing their takeover of the Japanese music industry.

First, it’s been confirmed that Kara has extended its distribution contract with Universal Music in Japan. Kara first signed with Universal Music in August of 2010, and was set to end in August of 2012. The recent extension will have the two partnered until December of 2013.
In addition, it has been revealed tickets for Kara’s upcoming Japan concert tour have completely been sold out. Ticket sales and reservations for Kara’s five-city concert tour opened on March 20 but it was revealed that the ten concerts, with a total of 100,000 seats had completely sold out.

A representative from Kara’s agency, DSP Entertainment said, “Tickets [for Kara’s concert tour] opened and sold out on March 20 and we’ve decided to add two concert dates on May 26 and 27 to the 15,000 seats at the Saitama Super Arena.”

Kara is currently in the middle of promotions for its sixth Japanese single album Speed Up/Girls’ Power
