[News] Fans Help Kara Stand Tall in Its First Japan Tour Concert

Kara held an exclusive concert with 20,000 fans from April 14-15 in Japan’s Yokohama Arena. The concert revved up the tour that would continue through seven Japanese cities with 12 concerts and 130,000 people, and proved Kara’s status as a representative hallyu girl group.

Despite the rain that poured down all day, Japanese fans in the arena didn′t seem to be bothered, as they applaused and cheered, helping the group take its first successful step in its Japan tour.

The concert was definitely different from that of the first generation hallyu singers. The first generation had mostly brought in middle-aged Japanese mothers, but Kara’s concert was filled with various age groups from those in their teens to those in their 40s and 50s. Families with parents holding their daughters’ hands could be spotted here and there, proving that the future of the Korean wave was bright. This day, Kara showed it was the girl group leading the Korean wave and that it was loved by people of all ages.

Physical disabilities didn’t get in the way for those determined to get to Kara’s concert. Many fans who had unique stories to tell made Kara’s concert all the more special, from a fan in a wheelchair with a respirator to another who had come with his visually impaired wife. Their presence was all the more special because the rain made it harder for them.

The safety agents scattered throughout the venue also suffered. They had to stay crouched in front of the audience for the three full hours the concert took place in case they would obscure the audience’s view, but their noble safety cause didn’t help them with their legs that were falling asleep. They could be seen massaging their legs and moving around carefully.

Thanks to these agents’ help the fans could enjoy the concert, but some could be found in despair during one part of the show. When Nicole brought a fan onstage to sing a song just for him, another fan in the audience didn’t hide his deep despair. He expressed his emotions with loud shouts that would’ve blown the roof off of the arena along with a set of big gestures, and continued to shout “Nicole!” sadly at the top of his lungs to the amusement of other parts of the audience.

All in all, it was an enjoyable concert with many sights to see, but the fans were the ones that definitely contributed more to the fun.
