[News] KARA opens “PANDORA” box with joy of topping online music charts

Top girl group KARA has dominated major online music charts by grabbing the attention of music lovers with their brand-new song, “PANDORA.”

 Breaking out from a year-long hiatus, the quintet claimed the No. 1 spot on real-time music charts on music distribution websites Melon, Mnet, ollehmusic, Bugs, and Soribada, as of 10 a.m. on August 23, KST, knocking off all previous chart-toppers such as PSY and Huh Gak.

The songstresses have soared to the top of the charts in just three hours after they opened the mysterious “PANDORA” box on Wednesday midnight, the girls’ agency DSP Entertainment said in press release this morning.

K-pop fans were more than welcome to the five idols’ new synth-pop dance tune, composed by hit songwriter duo Sweetune of some of the KARA's most popular tune, such as "Honey," "Jumping," and "STEP."

With its infectious melody and glamorous performance, KARA is gearing up for their first televised performance of new single on KBS “Music Bank” on August 24.

Composed of Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, KARA is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups that has broken into the Japanese music market.

The “STEP” singers wowed local and international reporters and their long-awaited fans, by staging first live performance of the new title tune and another brand-new track “Miss U” at their showcase dubbed,
KARA 5th Mini-album Showcase : PANDORA" in Seoul last night.
