K-pop girl group KARA is coming back to the local music scene next month, breaking one year’s hiatus.
KARA has confirmed their comeback with the fourth studio album in September and released a teaser image of five KARA members donning men’s suits through their agency DSP Media’s press release Monday morning.
Breaking the one-year hiatus since their fifth mini-album “PANDORA,” the upcoming record is the group’s first full-length album in two years after “STEP.”
During their tight filming schedule of cine-drama “Secret Love,” helmed by acclaimed TV producer Kim Gyu-tae, KARA members were busy collecting their ideas for the new album, a DSP official was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the five-member group is set to drop on August 28 their new Japan album “FANTASTIC GIRLS,” which includes their recent hit singles “Thank You Summer Love” and “Bye Bye Happy Days.”

Kara Dresses Up in Suits for 4th Album Cover
Making a homecoming to Korea once again, Kara released a photo from its upcoming fourth album.
On August 12, DSP Media uploaded a teaser photo of the Kara girls through its Facebook page. The members dressed up in satin suits, looking suave in the black and white photo, while sporting their voluminous up-dos.
“For the past year, Kara has been busy filming the drama Secret Love with producer Kim Kyu Tae, who directed That Winter, The Wind Blows, and other overseas activities,” said DSP Media. “As this is a new album coming out in two years, we plan on filling it with that many diverse colors of Kara.”
The comeback date for Kara is set for sometime in September.
Kara is coming out with its fourth studio album in September… attired as men
According to an August 12 announcement by Kara’s agency, DSP Media, the group (Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, Goo Hara, Jung Nichole, and Kang Jiyoung) is back in Korea finishing up their fourth studio album, due out in early September. It has been a year since Kara releases an album including new tracks. The last one was the EP Pandora, which came out last August. The upcoming release will be the first full album in two years, after Step, released in 2011.
An official of the agency says, “For the last year, Kara has worked hard sharing ideas for their new album despite a busy schedule that has included such projects as filming Secret Love and performing overseas. The new album will be full of Kara’s versatile musical style.”
In addition, images released of all Kara members attired as men are drawing special attention. It’s a completely different concept from their previous ones, in which they were mainly cute and sexy.
Kara is now in the final stage of producing the new album, and they are supposed to announce a detailed schedule right after they finish working on it.
