[News] Kara Takes Over Commercial World

Kara is gaining momentum in the commercial ad industry as the hottest idol group model out there.

In the eight months since beginning promotions in Korea in June 2011, Kara has succeeded in signing modeling contracts with a total of six products and brands in various areas.

The group currently models for cosmetics (Nature Republic), automobiles (Kia Pride), casual and athletic clothing (Kappa, Union Bay) as well as foods (Snickers, Mango Six). Although such areas are usually taken up by ′big model′ actors, the idol group is stealing the contracts away as the next ′hot model.′

Considering the group only promoted its third studio album in Korean for three weeks in September 2011, the feat is all the more extraordinary. The group is also modeling in Japan for various hair dye, bakery, drink and medicine products, proving its commercial value in both countries.

From April 14, Kara will embark on its Japan tour Karasia, which will go through Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo and bring in approximately 130,000 attendants. All tickets for the tour were sold out as soon as they went on sale, prompting the group to add two more concerts to be held at the Saitama Super Arena. After its Japan tour, the girls will return to Korea for promotions.
