[Info/News] DSP responds after Nicole's Twitter Explanation

[2013.10.07] DSP Media's representative said "For now the company is only able to talk about Nicole's refusal to renew the contract. We haven't consider yet the possibility of Nicole continuing doing activities as KARA with other members without renewing the contract."

  1. Meaning they haven't thought about how it would work if Nicole's solo activities would be managed by another company?

  2. Dsp needs to stop being stubborn and allow nicole to be represented by a different management while keeping kara together..without kara dsp is nothing..and without nicole
Kara is just not the same

  3. the translation is weird. 니콜이 재계약 하지 않은 상황에서 멤버들과 따로 또 같이 활동이 가능한지 고려하고 있다 means they will think about the possibility

  4. It is not an easy task for a company to take in someone who is not under its contract to perform or do activities together with the company's own artists. Think about the management problems, whose stylists are they going to use? If Nicole has her own stylists, will he/she conforms with the methods use by DSP's stylists? the same goes for other things such as makeup, choreographer etc. If Nicole wants to use DSP's stylist for instance, then Nicole has to pay for that and for other things belonging to DSP. I'm not saying it is impossible but it is truly a management nightmare and I understand why DSP has a hard time deciding on this venture.

    1. From what I understand, any KARA activities will be under DSP. Costumes, hair, makeup will be under DSP because it's a KARA activity. Anything that is separate from KARA will be taken care of by the company Nicole's under.

    2. That's how I thought it'd work too. Isn't it basically that she wants two contracts? One with DSP as Kara and one with another company as an individual? If that's the case I think that's what alot of people are getting confused about. Her saying she wants to end her "personal" contract with DSP just means as far as individual work goes right? It seems pretty easy if its that way, not like DSP had her doing many solo activities anyway.

    3. That makes sense, so the only time DSP should or would meet with Nicole is when she is working as a KARA member. Some are saying that dealing with the schedules (solo vs group) may become difficult. However, couldn't Nicole just promote just as they are members would (same time but with different companies?)
