So on a reader's suggestion, I have decided to set up a post for all of you to write just about any thoughts you have concerning Nicole. From her departure from KARA to possible future debut as a solo artist. All your thoughts, worries, and hopes for Nicole.

To get things started: Where you surprised Nicole wanted to go solo?
As a kpop fan since the first generation idols..I've seen so many groups break-up and try and go solo and never reach the level of popularity they used to have..although I don't think cole is the greatest singer or dancer..she's def really good in both aspects..what I feel truly shines for her though is her personality..I hope before she re-debuts she goes on some variety shows..I miss the cole that was on sgb and heroes
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited for Nicole's solo but waiting causes so much anxiety! I don't mind waiting awhile for music, but I really want to see her on variety shows again. She was so cute and funny and I like seeing her interact with her friends (or making new ones). I'm also worried about what company she goes to. I hope it's one that treats her well and does a good job at promoting her.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think her first comeback project will be or should be? Will it be or should it be something music related?... I'm thinking her first project would be acting, a drama or movie?... hahaha... It would be fun to see her come back with something that DSP was unable to offer her. I would be really happy to see her in a weekly drama.
ReplyDeleteBecause she is currently taking vocal and dance lessons, I think she is leaning more towards a debut as a solo artist. Like releasing her own music etc.
DeleteI think that she made a right decision.Althrough it is hard to accept,that decision will have to make sooner or later.All idol group member must face this situation.So it is the best way to leave before too late.And I think nicole has so much talented but she can't show how she was capable.If she debut as solo artist,I swear she will be hit again.To tell the truth,I never saw a girl who filled with charm and cute and humbly like her.She is the one who impressed me.when I wake up,the first website I read is your page(ournikori)

imo, NicoNico's management should not dismiss potential future activities with KaraX. There remains much interest (albeit sadness) and therefore monetizing opportunities, especially in Japan. Kara5 are pros and can sync up with a month's preparation for say, a collaboration or concert tour. The contracts will be more complicated as members are a mix of solo & group but that's just business. I personally would book the trip to Japan to see them. Everybody wins.

ReplyDeleteI don't know. I'm very curious to see what she'll come out with. Nicole, as a KARA member, was just one of five girls. The concepts, the image, the music was of KARA. It was rare to see her stand out, so I want to say that if she debuts as a solo artist, it will be like discovering Nicole Jung and not Nicole from KARA that is doing a solo project.

When i heard the new that she's leaving kara..i am so sad..bcoz i got to know kara and kpop world through curiousity on her when i watch her corner in SGB..although i am sad that she's leaving kara..

Initially, I was distraught.. sad... confused, it was about 7 years of my life haha. Ultimately, it was probably one of the most difficult, but also bravest decisions Nicole could have made and that only solidified why I am a fan and run this blog. :)
DeleteAfter a couple of months, I've convinced myself this was the best news. Nicole had been loyal to the group, the members, the fans. Even until the end, she stated that she wanted to be in the group. I really think all the parties involved could have made it work. If this was the push Nicole needed, she came out running pretty strong. The video practice views are over 450,000 views and that is impressive. I'm excited to see what she will do in the future and I'm happy to see so many fans believing and wanting the best for Nicole ^^
I still have many questions about what happened, I don't know if getting those answers matter anymore. Nicole's moved on and it seems like the KARA members have as well. The future is exciting ^^
Mae, do you think Nicole left Kara on good terms with the members? I know idol groups can be more of coworkers than friends, but I'd like to think Nicole and the others would keep in touch and still hang out when given the chance.
ReplyDeleteNicole's first message at Nicole-ing, she mentioned that she was nervous but since she made the decision, she would do her best. That seems to me, Nicole was beginning to accept what had happened. I don't know or have anything to go on to give my thoughts on how the others felt.
DeleteThe one who got me hooked to Kara is Nicole. I was new to kpop at that time. BOF was popular at that time. Their brother, SS501 brought me to STG and thats when i saw her. I had that girl crush on her till now. Its a good thing she left DSP. They are too busy with the other members and left her out. Its like when they need her, they use her. When they dont, they just throw her. I'll support her till the end. Whatever concept it is, u still my number 1 idol! :))
