[Fan] Reasons Why Nicole Left KARA

I've seen this post since October but it has been continuously updated since then.

This post was originally posted and compiled by a Korean fan.

I found it interesting...

1. Yes, I do agree that some of the commentary IS biased. This was compiled by a Nicole fan after all.
2. BUT that shouldn't negate what the charts and lists show, Nicole was essentially not receiving as much solo work as compared to the other members for the past couple of years. When organized like this, you can see a pretty noticeable difference.
3. She was STILL a valuable part of the group and brought in interest even when she did not do much solo work.
4. The point of this post was to show people why Nicole would choose to leave, she wasn't getting the same treatment as before 2011 and most importantly she wasn't able to pursue her personal passions like the other members have been doing all along while in DSP Meda.

I'm posting about this because it is the only post I've seen  of someone trying to show Nicole's case, trying to give some insight as to why Nicole choose to not renew her contract in the first place.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I always knew that her workload was lacking compared to the others over the past few years but seeing it all laid out like that is really something else. Like it seems so blatant that I can't believe they would actually feel okay with treating her like that. Its obvious she loves being in the entertainment industry and with Kara but its not worth putting up with DSP. They wouldn't let her work with Kara and have someone handle her individual activities so it's good that she is done with them altogether. I hope she finds an agency that will treat her right and help her get the work she deserves. I also hope she'll be very successful/popular solo so it can be a big FU to DSP and all the ppl that don't think she has what it takes.

  2. I agree with majority of the account, and being the Nicole bias that I am, I'm glad someone posted something from Nicole's side to somewhat "educate" those who sees Nicole as someone who is "greedy" for the limelight. She just wants to continue to do what she loves to do. And I can't stress enough how much this girl still wants to remain a part of Kara. People just doesn't seem to still understand that. Her choice was made due to the circumstances that were presented that did not allow her to do so. Sacrifices had to be made. At the end of the day, you always have to look out for number one, which is yourself. You have to satisfy yourself before you can satisfy those around you.

That aside, being the Kara supporter that I am, there are certain parts in which I felt that the author delve a bit too deep in to, especially the dissection of screen time and line distribution in MVs and songs. Given the position that Nicole has in the group, you can't always expect her to have more parts than others, some times it's the producers who prefers a certain tone/voice for that specific part. And sometimes visually, the director might prefer a certain visual for that single moment of a second for that part of the video. Honestly, it's give and take where these things are concern.

    1. I'll be the first one to agree about the MV break down etc,the person who compiled this is a Nicole fan and the comments are personal opinions of this fan.

The overall problem was that Nicole was such a prominent member of KARA in 2009/2010 but after the controversy, her role in the group went down real fast while Hara was still in the forefront. The question is why all that happened and continued for all these years.

  4. I think it's quite true. I also realize the outfit problem on the last stage. Well, let's just wait for her comeback. #Believe

  6. Wow... reading that made me feel sad, not only for Nicole but for all of KARA as well. I just hope this doesn't cause Nicole's fans to put down the other girls when the real culprit is DSP. What's done is done and I'm sure if we looked hard enough every member has been mistreated one way or another. Let's just move on and support our girls in their future endeavors!

    1. Ultimately, it was up to DSP to promote Nicole no one else.

  7. As a nicole fan I was aware of her lack of promotions but it's really shocking to see it displayed like that..nicole fighting! It must've been really hard for her to ensure all that
