[News] 11.12.18. Kara $62.8 Million & SNSD $51.6 million gross sales in Japan, No.4 & 5

Group Kara and SNSD have are ranked 4th and 5th respectively, on the Oricon yearly gross sales ranking for 2011.

Oricon has officially announced the gross sales figure and rankings on the 19th, as the final tally of the year.

According to the information provided by Oricon, the gross sales figures are from the total sales of CDs and DVDs. ABK48 is ranked #1 with $209 million, Arashi #2 with $196.4, and EXILE #3 with $71.8 million.

Kara came in at 4th with $62.8 gross sales and SNSD placed 5th with $51.6 Million. It is a clear indication of how big K-Pop is in Japan right now.

As for the album sales for the year for Kara, ‘Super Girl’ sold 450,595 copies placing 7th in total sales, ‘Girl’s Talk’ sold 277,306 copies (22nd), ‘Go Go Summer’ sold 230,082 copies sold (25th), and ‘Roller Coaster Love’ sold 225,175 copies placing on the 26th spot.

For SNSD ‘Girls Generation’ sold 642,054 copies placing the album solidly on the 5th spot, ‘Hoot’ sold 148,761 copies (42nd), and ‘Mr.Taxi/Run Devil Run’ sold 172,205 copies placing on the 46th spot.

In the current report, the gross sales figures were announced to the 5th spot and the single and full length album figures were announced to the 50th spot.

In a related news, TVXQ’s ‘Why? (Keep Your Head Down)’ sold 285,051 copies (16th) and ‘Super Star’ sold 184,317 copies (41st). In the album sales figure ‘TONE’ sold 293,674 copies placing on the 21st spot.

Jang Geun Suk’s ‘Let Me Cry’ sold 215,714 copies and it ranked 29th in the singles sales figure.
