[News] Kara’s 3 full length albums in Japan surpass 1 millionth cumulative sales

As one of the top girl groups both in Korea and in Japan, Kara has shown their influence in Japan’s music industry by moving 1 million albums in just one year.

The Recording Industry Association of Japan aggregates album sales numbers every month and it announces the result on the 10th of each month. They give out the ‘Gold’ accreditation for 100k albums sold, the ‘Platinum’ for 250k, and the ‘Million’ for 1 million albums sold. According to the information provided by RIAJ, Kara’s 1st full length album ‘Girls Talk’ has sold over 500k copies so far, receiving a ‘Double Platinum’ accreditation.

Kara 1st best album released on September of last year, ‘Kara Best 2007-2010′, has sold over 250k copies, receiving the ‘Platinum’ accreditation and the group’s 2nd full album, ‘Super Girl’ has also earned the honor.
Kara has in total sold over 1 million albums with 3 full length albums released in a period of roughly a year, proving once and for all they are one of the most popular girl groups in Asia.
