[News] KARA's cumulative single sales in Japan exceed 1 million

Girl group KARA's cumulative sales in Japan has exceeded one million.

KARA released their 6th Japanese single, "Speed Up / Girls Power," on March 21st, and recent sales records show that the group has sold 155,117 copies of the single thus far. With the sales from their 6th Japanese single, KARA's cumulative sales for singles have reached a total of 1,000,999, just a year and 11 months following their debut in Japan with "Mister."

KARA has joined the ranks of BoA and TVXQ, who have also sold over a million units in singles in Japan, proving that they are indeed one of the leading representatives of the Hallyu Wave.

Taking a closer look at KARA's strong presence in Japan, KARA has achieved the shortest time of achieving a million singles sold in less than two years with only 6 singles. TVXQ released 24 singles and hit the million mark after 3 years and 7 months following their debut in Japan***.

At the same time, Girls' Generation has released only 4 Japanese singles and is quickly making an advance on KARA with a current record of 569,896 copies sold.

Meanwhile, KARA recently finished the Japan-leg of their tour, "KARASIA," performing 12 times in six different cities and performing in front of over 150,000 Japanese fans
