[News] What are the strengths of the top 5 K-pop girl groups?

Today, the entertainment industry is overflowing with idol groups that are armed with each of their own strengths and colors, particularly girl groups. With such a huge variety of girl groups blooming in this ‘Girl group Golden Age’, Osen recently ran an article where five of the top representative girl groups of K-pop were examined and compared for each group’s strengths. Amongst the countless cliche girl groups currently on the market, it is these girls who have maintained their own territory with their unique set of charms and separated from the rest of the pack.

KARA – A sense of familiarity, all members of equal beauty
KARA’s strength is that all members are so equally beautiful that one can consider all of them to take the ‘visuals’ role of the group.
The group led by lead vocalist Park Gyuri, Goo Hara, Kang Jiyoung, Han Seung Yeon and Nicole all possess a feminine and mature beauty, making themselves known as a visually appealing group. However, instead of looking so perfect that it’s burdensome, the group holds a sense of familiarity in their attractiveness, which makes it easier for girls their age to relate to them.

The main reason I put this up is that I agree that all the KARA members are beautiful.. no member is that far spectacular that the other members look unattractive. I also think KARA's strongest point is their familiarity as well, from Korea, to Japan.. around the globe girls can relate to at least one thing from KARA. I didn't know KARA were considered as "beauties" as part of their image though haha, just figured it was the girl next door image but this is good to know haha.

  1. yeah i think the girl next door image really made them have one of the most loyal fanbase around,...
for me i think those 5 groups deserves the title top 5...not really a fan of the other 4 myself XD but i think one of the sign of unique & great group is that you could easily distinct one member with the other with their own charms and personality

as for KARA kinda glad they didn't have just one shining member...each member popularity level might be a bit different and changed but kinda not overshadowing the others and only benefiting the group fame ...even sometimes its only different according to region XD ... and as for voice type pretty much we could say KARA had 5 different voice type that easy to recognized, i think that factor adding the plus point when they sing their songs

Plus i think their humble and down to earth personality shown in various TV show/radio/twitter XD over these years even with the new level of fame they have now really make fans feel not alienated with the girls
